Disney Stroller Guide: Best Options & Tips
Last Updated on May 18, 2020
While the global coronavirus pandemic may change how Disney and other companies operate going forward, the magical feeling of Disney will never change.
Walking through the gates at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or any of the other Disney Parks feels like stepping into a whole new world.
The experience of exploring the parks, seeing shows, meeting characters, jumping on rides, eating delicious unique foods, and browsing the shops keeps you wanting more. This excitement almost always keeps families at the Disney park much longer than they plan. Often past the breaking point for either the parents or children.
This is why having a rental stroller or bringing your own is absolutely necessary for parents with babies, toddlers, or small children.
Even children as old as four or five will appreciate being able to crash in a stroller after a long day of walking!
Also, the stroller is not just for carrying your infant or toddler around. They are great for holding your purse, bags, drinks, snacks, souvenirs, and anything else you pick up in the park.
Strollers can be life (and back) savers on exhausting days at the park.
However, one big logistical challenge for your vacation is how you’ll get a stroller to Disney.
There are really 3 stroller options for your Disney vacation. We’ll breakdown the following options and other important stroller tips over the next few sections.
- Purchase and bring your own stroller.
- Rent a stroller from Disney when you get to the park.
- Rent a stroller from a third party company located near the Disney park.
With Disney in the process of planning and re-opening its doors after its historic closure during the pandemic, families are booking (or re-booking) their trips to see Mickey Mouse.
Before you go, we want to share important things to know about stroller rules and logistics to make your future family trip to Disney more enjoyable.
Disney Stroller Rules and Size Limit
As of May 1, 2019, Disney’s stroller policy was revised across all of its theme parks. The main update is that stroller dimensions must measure smaller than 31 inches (79 cm) wide or 52 inches (132 cm) in length to be allowed into the Disney park.
Thankfully, the majority of single strollers will fit within Disney’s new limits. In addition, all of our recommended rental companies have verified their strollers will meet Disney’s stroller requirements.
However, it is highly recommended to measure your stroller before traveling; especially if you’re bringing a double stroller. It would be devastating to show up with a stroller too large.
According to Disney’s park rules, other important stroller guidelines you’ll need to follow include:
- Stroller wagons of any kind are not permitted.
- Strollers are not allowed on escalators. Use of strollers is permitted on elevators and ramps, available at certain locations.
- Children must be removed from the stroller while riding on a parking lot tram.
- Do not leave personal belongings in an unattended stroller.
- Strollers may be moved by a Cast Member due to operational needs.
Top 10 Tips for Strollers at Disney Parks
- Double-check the stroller meets Disney’s 31″ wide by 52″ long size requirement.
- Read and follow the Disney rules for strollers above.
- Customize your stroller tag or find a way to easily identify your stroller.
- Strollers for kids under 6 are a must.
- Don’t rent from Disney if you’ll be spending considerable time outside of the parks. (e.g., hotel pools)
- Stroller rental at Disney is geared for older toddlers and kids, not infants.
- Don’t bring your best/most expensive stroller if at all possible.
- Get the smallest stroller you can comfortably use to reduce frustration in tight spaces.
- Go for a 3 wheel stroller and go tandem (front & back) instead of side-by-side for double strollers to get around easier.
- Bring or purchase a parent cup holder to carry drinks and small items.
Should You Rent or Bring Your Own Stroller?
The first major decision you’ll need to make is whether to bring your own stroller or rent one while visiting Disney.
This is going to come down to how much you want to spend and whether you need a stroller outside of the Disney Parks.
Disney Stroller Options Comparison
Considerations:
1) No cost for BYOS if you own a stroller. If not, you will need to either buy or borrow one. See below for our recommended Disney strollers.
2) Average Cost for Disney and non-Disney stroller rental are based on comparable Single Stroller pricing over 4 days. Double Strollers will increase costs.
3) Costs exclude extras like accessories, waivers/insurance, delivery fees, or taxes which some companies may charge. Costs are only averages and subject to change.
Stroller Option 1: Bring Your Own Stroller (BYOS)
If you own a stroller that fits the maximum Disney stroller size requirements, you may want to bring it with on your trip. As we’ll cover, stroller rental through Disney directly or an off-site rental company can add up quickly.
Also, having your own stroller means you’ll guarantee that your child is comfortable during the long days. They’re already used to the seat and padding, so switching to a rental or the plastic stroller that Disney provides may not be seamless.
However, if you’ve only got a top-of-the-line stroller at home, you may also want to consider purchasing a cheaper stroller specifically for Disney.
It would be unthinkable to throw a $300+ stroller into the hotel dumpster because it got damaged at the park or during travel. While unlikely, it’s always a possibility when you bring your own stroller to Disney.
We’ll cover the best strollers for Disney further below to help you find the best one for your family vacation.
Here are some tradeoffs to consider if you’re planning to bring your own stroller to Disney.
WHAT WE LOVE
- Lowest cost option since you own it.
- Airlines typically stow the stroller free-of-charge. (confirm with your airline)
- Familiarity and comfort with the stroller since you’ve likely taken it for a test drive.
- Useful for carting kids around outside of the Disney Parks. (e.g., airport, hotel pool, shopping, non-Disney parks)
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
- Hauling the stroller with you during your trip to Disney.
- Wear-and-tear on your stroller from being tossed into cars or pushed into things. (stroller may not make it home with you)
Stroller Option 2: Rent a Stroller at the Disney Parks
The option with the least amount of hassle is renting directly through Disney.
This service conveniently allows you to pick-up and drop-off your rented stroller at the front gates as you enter or leave the park. You are able to purchase a daily or a slightly cheaper multi-day (length of stay) stroller rental ahead of time or at the gates.
Disney used to allow you to order stroller rentals through other companies and have them ready for you at the parks and hotels.
As of October 1, 2019, Disney cut the list of Featured Providers for stroller rental down to just one company named ScooterBug.
If you want to rent from other companies in Option 3, you’ll now need to coordinate offsite stroller delivery or pick-up with those vendors. However, you may have more stroller options and can expect to pay less when using a non-Disney rental company.
Here are some considerations if you’re planning to rent a stroller directly from Disney.
WHAT WE LOVE
- Strollers are conveniently ready for you at the gates of each park, even if you’re park hopping.
- Don’t have to lug a stroller around while traveling at the airport, hotel, etc.
- Strollers are cleaned after each use.
- Strollers that are misplaced or damaged can be replaced or swapped out at any time.
- Prevents damaging the stroller your family uses at home.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
- Highest cost option due to the convenience the service provides.
- Only suitable for older children that are able to sit upright.
- Made of plastic without padding (likely for easier cleaning).
- Only able to be used inside the parks and must be returned before leaving.
- Carrying your little ones around can be exhausting. (park gate to the car, down to the hotel pool, etc.)
Stroller Option 3: Rent a Stroller from a Non-Disney Rental Company
The final option is to rent a stroller from a service located near the Disney Parks.
We highly recommend using them for your vacation.
Not just because of the convenience, but you’re also supporting small businesses. Many of which are struggling due to the shutdowns related to COVID-19.
These companies are often within 20-30 minutes of either the parks or airports to make the rental process easier. In most cases, these companies offer delivery to your hotel or allow you to pick it up from the company’s nearby store.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort and rent a stroller through ScooterBug (Disney Featured Provider), they can deliver it directly to the hotel even when you are not present. This is super convenient if you don’t know exactly when you’ll arrive.
However, deliveries from other stroller rental companies to Disney Resort hotels will require you to be present to pick-up the stroller.
Outside of the Disney Resorts, most hotels around Walt Disney World and Disneyland are very accommodating to stroller rental pick-up/drop-off (confirm before booking). They recognize this is a critical service for many families.
Some things to consider if you’re planning to rent a stroller from a company outside of Disney.
WHAT WE LOVE
- Lower cost than renting from Disney.
- Convenient stroller delivery or pick-up options. Some deliver strollers to the airport.
- Don’t have to lug a stroller around while traveling at the airport, hotel, etc.
- Able to use the stroller outside of the Disney Parks.
- Useful for carting kids around outside of the Disney Parks. (e.g., airport, hotel pool, shopping, non-Disney parks)
- Prevents damaging the stroller your family uses at home.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
- Not all hotels work with every rental company to store your stroller for pick-up/drop-off.
- May charge extra for the parent cup holder, child tray, or rain cover attachments.
- Must pay for insurance or cover the full cost of strollers that are misplaced or damaged.
- Strollers may be more worn than your own or those rented through Disney.
Best Disney Stroller Rental Companies
We are taking a data-driven approach to help you identify the top companies outside of Disney to rent a stroller. While cost is certainly important, there are other factors to be considered as well.
Rental Factors to Consider
- Stroller Rental Costs: Breakdown of the total cost based on stroller options (single/double) and rental days. Be cautious of extra fees on accessories or any other costs associated with your rental. Also, confirm costs with your selected company as prices can change.
- Stroller Cleaning: Given the recent global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there is an increased focus on the steps companies are taking to protect their customers. This is by far one of the most important factors since it can impact the health and well-being of our little ones. We’ve contacted each stroller rental company and have included their direct responses on stroller cleaning where provided.
- Social Rating: Average out of 5.0 based on customer ratings from Google, Yelp, and Facebook. A lower rating may indicate a higher frequency of customer service issues. (updated as of May 2020)
- Facebook Likes: This gives an idea of how “popular” the company is on Facebook.
Walt Disney World Stroller Rental Companies Near Orlando
Below is where the companies fall when plotting them by Social Rating and Average 4 Day Rental Cost (Single Stroller). The companies farther to the right are those where customers have more frequently reported the best experiences.

Kingdom Strollers
As you can see, Kingdom Strollers is a clear favorite among families traveling to Walt Disney World. They have by far the most number of Facebook Likes and have a stellar customer rating history.
The owners of Kingdom Strollers, Matt and Angela Wilhite, are very responsive to their customer’s needs. The team is quick and available to answer any questions you may have before or during your trip about the stroller, accessories, or rental details.
In addition, one major benefit of using Kingdom Strollers is they can deliver directly to Orlando International Airport. This is super convenient for those flying in to visit Walt Disney World.
On a personal note, we used Kingdom Strollers on our last trip to Disney World in 2019. The service was top-notch and our vacation with the stroller went incredibly smooth.
They made sure the stroller was ready at our hotel’s concierge desk ahead of time and completely clean. The stroller seriously looked brand new apart from a couple of scuffs.
It was a lifesaver being able to use the stroller going down to the hotel pool, walking around Disney Springs, and park hopping. The trip would have been stressful (and likely painful) without it!

- Frequency: “Our strollers are thoroughly cleaned between each rental.”
- Process: “Where possible, we remove the stroller fabric and launder it using Ecolab commercial laundry products. When the fabric is not able to be removed, we scrub the fabric with Ecolab cleaners, then use a high temperature upholstery extractor to inject 200° water into the fabric and extract the solution. Non-fabric portions are cleaned with Ecolab quat sanitizer.”
- Compliance/Monitoring: “Our cleaning process is monitored by our warehouse supervisor with each process having its own station set up. Each area passes onto the next station. Each station can reject the stroller and ask the previous station to redo or address a problem area.”
- Response to COVID-19: “We have always taken pride in the cleanliness of our strollers, but we are even more aware of the need to do our absolute best to ensure the cleanest product possible. We are currently working with Ecolab and the stroller manufacturers to evaluate different products to maximize our cleaning process. We are also evaluating our drivers and their interaction with our guests.”

- Frequency: “We have always thoroughly cleaned every stroller between rentals.”

The stroller wheels are always removed and cleaned separately and the stroller frame and handlebars are cleaned between each rental as well.”
- Compliance/Monitoring: “We have a very dedicated and proud stroller cleaning team that have been with us 10 years. They know their stuff and they know our reputation is in their hands.”
- Response to COVID-19: Magic Strollers, like all other businesses, are awaiting guidance from state/local authorities and public health officials. Baby Wheels Orlando
Baby Wheels Orlando is a family-owned and operated stroller rental company in Orlando. Pam and John Hopgood own the business and consider it their passion to provide the greatest vacation experience possible.
Similar to other rental companies, they offer mainly City and BOB strollers. The main difference with Baby Wheels Orlando is they also offer several accessories that some other rental companies do not.
For example, you can rent a glider board that attaches to either the Baby Jogger City Mini or Mini GT models. It allows older children to stand at the rear of the stroller while your baby is in the front. If you’ve got two or more kids, your older ones will appreciate the rest on long days at Disney.
Also, if you’re bringing your own car seat, they offer a car seat adapter so you can attach it directly to the stroller. This is great for babies that are just a few months old and if you want to use your own car seat.

- Frequency: “We have always cleaned every stroller when it is returned to the warehouse after the rental period is over.”
- Process: “Every stroller is checked over to determine if it needs either a light hand washing with warm soapy water or a deep clean in the washing machine. All frames are wiped down with cleaning fluid, hypoallergenic detergent, and air-dried. The rain covers and parent consoles are steam cleaned.”
- Compliance/Monitoring: “Every stroller is inspected by the owners before it goes back into storage and again before it goes back out on a rental. If anything needs re-washing it is removed and washed as required.”
- Response to COVID-19: “Although it will take longer our new cleaning procedures will involve machine washing all stroller covers and parent consoles, the rain covers will still be steam cleaned as before and the frames and stroller baskets will be thoroughly hand cleaned with hypoallergenic detergent. Just prior to the lockdown we had started implementing a different delivery and pick up procedure. Our driver will spray each stroller with disinfectant spray and wipe down the frame with antiseptic wipes in front of the client for those that we meet face to face. Other resorts where we leave strollers at the bell desk will have the same spray and wipe down and can be wrapped in plastic if the client wishes for further safety. Our driver will use plastic gloves for each delivery and pick up and will wear a face mask.”

Orlando Stroller Rentals
Orlando Stroller Rentals is a company founded by Shannon Tanner, a mother of two. She started the company in 2008 after a family trip to Walt Disney World where they experienced the challenges we covered with renting strollers from Disney.
Shannon and her team are very knowledgeable about the strollers they rent. Their employees have an average of 7+ years and some over 10 years with the company.
They are focused on improving the service they provide and demonstrate a commitment to ensuring the safety of their employees and customers. An example of this is that they now offer delivery direct to Orlando International Airport. They will go out of their way to make your trip less stressful.
Their BOB and BabyJogger City strollers all meet Disney’s size guidelines, so that’s one less thing you’ll need to worry about.
Source: Direct response from Orlando Stroller Rentals (Shannon Tanner, Owner)
- Frequency: “All of our strollers are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each and every rental. This has been the case since we opened our business in 2008.”
- Process: “We go through a stringent cleaning process which includes laundering fabrics in a sanitize setting and steam cleaning strollers which has been proven to kill germs and viruses. All of our staff are trained on the top to the bottom cleaning process which we keep private for trade secret purposes. Once the stroller is cleaned and sanitized, the stroller goes through a second inspection when it is tagged with the family name. A third inspection occurs prior to delivery to the customer.”
- Compliance/Monitoring: “We have internal procedures that occur for each and every cleaner to ensure our stroller process is adhered to. Our average cleaner has been with us for 7 years and some have been with us for over 10 years. They are very experienced in this process.”
- Response to COVID-19: “We have always believed that each and every stroller returned to our store can potentially have an infectious virus or bacteria present. Therefore, the cleaning procedure already had safeguards in place regarding viruses. We frequently rent to guests with children that have severe allergies. Daily processes/procedures are being modified to ensure our employee’s safety. For example, staff (drivers and cleaners) will be required to wear face masks and gloves. Gloves have always been a standard for cleaners. They will be temperature checked prior to starting their shift, and any staff who displays or feels symptoms will be required to stay home.”

ScooterBug (Orlando & Anaheim)
ScooterBug is wholly owned by Safemark, which provides in-room safes, lockers, and mobility devices/services to resorts and theme parks, Disney included.
ScooterBug landed a major deal in 2019 when it became Disney’s only Featured Provider for strollers, ECV, and wheelchair rentals at Walt Disney World, Disney Springs, and Disney Resorts. Inside and outside the parks, ScooterBug offers some of the lowest rental prices.
When renting inside the Disney Parks, you’re limited to the hard plastic strollers that are mostly for older infants and small children.
Renting from ScooterBug directly, they have a range of options including stroller models from Britax, BOB, BabyJogger, and also the Freedom Push for adaptive needs.
In addition, they were the only company that had a site dedicated to the cleaning products and processes they use. Their Safemark Cares website covers how they disinfect strollers and other rental equipment as a response to the coronavirus.
Finally, while they may have a lower Social Rating, the majority of reviews regarding stroller rentals have been positive. Many of the negative ratings were due to issues with electric scooter rentals.

- Frequency: Strollers are cleaned after each rental.
- Process: Safemark specifies ScooterBug strollers to be cleaned regularly using EcoLab Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner or Zep Citrus Cleaner. Following the usual cleaning, the strollers are disinfected by spraying Simple Green d Pro 5 on all surfaces and left to air dry for maximum effectiveness.
- Compliance/Monitoring: We have taken proactive measures that include publishing guidelines for the supplemental disinfecting of Safemark equipment, reinforcing team member training on sanitation and hygiene, avoiding non-essential travel, and creating an executive task force.
- Response to COVID-19: Safemark has published supplemental disinfection guidelines to complement the cleaning procedures they already had in place. These are recommendations ScooterBug will be following.

Disneyland Stroller Rental Companies Near Anaheim

City Stroller Rentals
City Stroller Rentals was established in 2010 and is a favorite stroller rental provider at the Disneyland Resort. They can deliver directly to hotels and resorts with many not requiring you to be present for delivery or the return.
Their Customer Care team is highly knowledgeable about the strollers and other equipment the company has to offer. What makes them unique is that they also provide stroller repair and cleaning services for families traveling to the Anaheim area.
They also have you covered if you need any other baby gear (high chairs, Pack ‘n Play, bathtubs, etc.) while on your vacation.

- Frequency: “After every rental use.”
- Process: “Our Baby Jogger strollers have their fabrics removed and laundered using Simple Green d Pro 5 after each rental. Frames are hand cleaned with hot water, detergent, and Simple Green d Pro 5 cleanser. We are the only stroller rental company in Anaheim to clean/launder and disinfect for bacterial, viral, mold/mildew, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Hepatitis B & C, Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 & Type 2, HIV-1 (AIDS virus), Human Coronavirus, Avian Influenza and much more. All gear is sprayed with Simple Green d Pro 5 and left to sanitize for a minimum of 10 minutes before washing.”
- Compliance/Monitoring: “Being a small family business – my husband and I have the routine down and are always on deck. We reassemble with clean fabrics, seat boards, and canopies. Leave in the sun for 30 minutes or more before racking them on antibacterial food-grade storage rolling racks. The time we spend with this process has increased a bit since we increased the washer times to 36 minutes instead of 25 minutes. I would sweep the vans out every day because of crumbs and wipe down 2 times a week. Now we will wipe down every day with disinfectant.”
- Response to COVID-19: “Our routine will stay the same with fabrics that are removable. The gear that does not have removable fabrics will be taken out of inventory. We cannot guarantee every spot on the stroller can be cleaned without doing harm to the frames (rust and seized parts). On retrievals, we are now spraying a disinfectant and let it sit for a minute or 2 prior to loading in the vans. One extra step and a little time, but a necessary one. Of course, we will follow what the State of California and Orange County require as well.”

Traveling Baby Company
The Traveling Baby Company was established in 2004 to deliver baby gear to traveling families. Hotels often lack baby items like bathtubs, strollers, cribs, and high chairs – so they try to fill that gap.
Traveling Baby Company’s prices and inventory is great for last-minute orders, airport deliveries, or longer-term rentals.
They have just about every major brand and size of stroller available for rent in the Disneyland area. Just make sure the stroller is compliant with Disney’s stroller rules.

One Stop Mobility
One Stop Mobility started in 2005 as a company that rented out wheelchairs, electric scooters, and other medical equipment. Since then, they’ve expanded their services to renting single and double strollers for Disneyland.
While their selection of strollers is limited to Baby Jogger, they have a lot of experience in delivering clean gear to their customers. Another benefit is they’re just a 5 minute walk from the Disneyland park.
One Stop Mobility is a great choice if you have other mobility needs for your trip to Disneyland.

Cloud of Goods
Cloud of Goods is an online marketplace for travelers to rent baby, mobility, or outdoor gear on-demand.
While they don’t specialize in just strollers, they do have a decent range of stroller options to rent. This includes single, jogger, double strollers, and just about every stroller accessory you could need.
They also have a variety of other baby gear to rent such as high chairs, baby monitors, pack ‘n plays, baby carriers, bouncers, and cribs.
Like many of the other companies, they offer door-to-door rental delivery. This is convenient since they will drop-off the stroller when you arrive and pick it up when you head home.
